ADMISSIONS INTO UNDERGRADUATE AND POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES FOR 2019/2020 ACADEMIC SESSION

GENERAL

1 The Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) is a Federal University engaged in imparting knowledge and skills using specialized facilities and multi-disciplinary approach. It is a centre of excellence for innovative research and development in aerospace, aviation and allied disciplines

2 Admissions into National Universities Commission accredited Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes offered in the University are open to the general public. Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the following programmes for the 2019/ 2020 Academic Session:

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

3. Candidates seeking admission to AFIT's undergraduate programme are required to have a JAMB UTME cut-off mark of 160 and a pass in AFIT's post-UTME screening. Those intending to pursue Postgraduate programmes will be offered direct entry admission provided they meet the entry requirements. To be considered for admission, candidates must have chosen or changed their university of first choice to AFIT through accredited JAMB CBT Centre. Entry requirements for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes offered in AFIT are as detailed below:

a. Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) Programmes – Aerospace

Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Information & Communication Technology, B.Sc. Computer Science and Cyber Security

Minimum of GCE/SSCE/NECO/NTC/NABTEB with at least credit passes in 5 subjects in Mathematics, English, Physics, Chemistry and one other subject from Additional Mathematics, Technical Drawing, Auto-Mechanics, Applied Electricity, Metal Works, Statistics and Geography in not more than 2 sittings

b. Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Physics with Electronics and Statistics

Minimum of GCE/SSCE/NECO/NABTEB with 5 credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, the core course subject and 2 other subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Applied Electricity and Geography, in not more than 2 sittings.

c. Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, Banking and Finance and International Relations

Minimum of GCE/SSCE/NECO/NABTEB with 5 credit passes in English Language , Mathematics, Economics the core course subject and one other subject from Principles of Accounting, Commerce, Government, Geography History Lit in English in not more than 2 sittings.

d. Requirements and Procedure for Direct Entry into Undergraduate Programmes

(1) Applicants seeking admission into 200 Level undergraduate programmes in AFTl, must possess the general entry requirements as well as any of first Degree, HND with a minimum of lower credit; ND with a minimum of Upper credit or WASC/GCE "A" Level with at least 2 credit passes.

(2) All direct entry applicants in this category must obtain the JAMB Direct Entry form and make AFIT their university of first choice.

e. Direct Entry Courses

(1). B.Sc. Cyber Security (A Level credit passes in 2 science subjects including Mathematics and either of Physics or Chemistry.) (2). B.Eng in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Civil Engineering, Information and Communications Engineering (A Level credit in Mathematics and Physics, ND with upper credit and HND with lower credit in Aircraft Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical/Electonic Engineering.

(3). B.Sc Accounting, Business Administration, Economics (2 - "A" Level credit passes to include Economics, Principles of Accounting and Management), ND with upper credit or HND with lower credit in Accounting and Business Administration

f. Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) Programmes in Aerospace Engineering.

Minimum of a Third Class Degree in Engineering, Material Sciences or Physics or HND with a minimum of lower credit in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Computer Engineering and Material Science Engineering.

g. Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) Programme in Logistics and Supply Chain

A minimum of B.Sc Degree with Third Cass Honours or HND with a minimum of lower credit in Purchasing & Supply, Marketing and Business Administration.

h. Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) Programme in Electrical and Electronic Engineering

A minimum of Third Class in First Degree or HND with a minimum of lower credit in Electrical/Electronic Engineering and Physics with Electronics.

i. Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) Programme in Construction Technology

A minimum of Third class in First Degree or HND with a minimum of lower credit in Civil Engineering and Building Technology.

j. Master's Programme in Aerospace Engineering

A minimum of Second Class Honours Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical/Electronic Engineering.

PROCEDURE FOR APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION

4. Interested candidates are to visit AFIT website at www.afit.edu.ng and proceed as stated therein. To access admission form, candidates are required to pay a non refundable fee of N2,000 only for undergraduate application and N10,000 only for postgraduate application using our online payment portal. Applicants for postgraduate programmes are to request their institutions to forward transcripts of their Degree/Diploma certificates by mail to The Registrar, AFIT, PMB 2104, Nigeria Air Force Base, Kaduna.

POST UTME SCREENING EXERCISE

5. The Post UTME/Screening exercise for admission will hold from 3rd - 5th September 2019 at AFIT, Nigerian Air Force Base Kaduna by 9am daily. Candidates are to attend the exercise with the following:

a. Original copy of 2019 UTME Result slip.

b. Acknowledgement slip printed from AFIT online application portal.

6. The Screening exercise will be conducted as follows:

a. Engineering Programmes - 3rd September 2019.

b. Science Programmes - 4th September 2019

c. Social and Management Sciences Programmes - 5th September 2019.

d. Post Graduate Programmes - 6th September 2019.

CLOSURE OF APPLICATIONS FOR ADMISSION

7. All applications for admission will close on 26th August 2019. Candidates are equally advised to visit the Institutes website periodically for important Information after application.
